This series is made from objects discarded through renovations, storms and neglect, and strewn throughout the city or countryside in Montreal and Quebec. Cast off without care, they show signs of wear and of life, and embody the spirit of their former habitats. As each piece found its way to me, it became irrevocably connected to someone close to my heart. I placed these souvenirs in my hand-made memory drawers, forever linking my memories to their own storied past. The drawers have no chest to call home; but they house intimate remembrances. In salvaging remnants of bygone days, these artworks reclaim the histories of our city and its people, transforming them into personal tales of joy and pain.
